Monday: fall sports and first presidential debate

Happy Monday, Oak Park. Here’s what you need to know to wrap up your weekend and begin your week:

Last week: football and girls’ volleyball

Varsity football beat Carpinteria 40-7 Friday, Sept. 23.

Varsity girls’ volleyball beat Royal 3-0 Thursday, Sept. 22. They also participated in a tournament Saturday, Sept. 24.

This week: girls’ tennis and volleyball

Girls’ tennis will play a home game against Calabasas Monday, Sept. 26 at 3 p.m. They will play an away game against Beverly Hills Tuesday, Sept. 27 and another against Moorpark Thursday, Sept. 29 both at 3 p.m.

Girls’ volleyball will play an away game against Moorpark Thursday, Sept. 29. Frosh-soph will play at 4:00 p.m., junior varsity at 5:00p.m., and varsity at 6:00p.m.

Cross country has its first league meet Thursday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m.

Girls’ golf will play an away game against Moorpark Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 2:30 p.m.

Next week: Friday night football

Football will play an away game against Nordhoff at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7.

Beyond Oak Park: first presidential debate between Clinton and Trump set for tonight

Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald J. Trump will participate in the first presidential debate tonight, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.  The debate will be held at Hofstra University. However, the two candidates are at a dead-even tie according to Bloomberg’s. Read more from NBC News.
