Happy Monday, Oak Park. Here’s what you need to know to wrap up your weekend and begin your week:

This week: solar panel construction begins

Oak Park High School began construction of the new solar panels today, March 27. Only 120 student parking spots will be available. Once the lot is full, students must park on Kanan Road.

Girls’ lacrosse will play Los Alamitos away Monday, March 27 at 5:30 p.m. They will also play Oaks Christian at home Wednesday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m.

Boys’ lacrosse will play Thacher at home Tuesday, March 28 at 7:00 p.m. They will also play Redondo at home Friday, March 31 at 7:00 p.m.

Boys’ baseball has a home game against Ventura at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30.

Next week: beginning of April to bring third Life Skills retreat

Girls’ lacrosse will play an away game against Simi Wednesday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. They will also play Chaminade away Friday, April 7 at 4:00 p.m.

Boys’ lacrosse will play Pacific Ridge Tuesday, April 4 at home at 7:00 p.m. They also play Chaminade at home Thursday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m.

Boys’ volleyball plays Simi away Tuesday, April 4. Frosh-soph plays at 4:00 p.m., junior varsity at 5:00 p.m., and varsity at 6:00 p.m. They also play away at Moorpark Thursday, April 6. The same times apply.

The third Life Skills retreat leaves Wednesday, April 5 at 2:25 p.m.

Beyond Oak Park: Ohio shooting at nightclub kills one, injures 15

There was a shooting at a nightclub in Cincinnati, Ohio early Sunday morning. One person was killed and 15 more were injured. Assistant Fire Chief Roy Winston said several other club-goers were injured fleeing the scene. Read more from Fox News.

  • The Pentagon announced that Pakistani terrorist leader Qari Yasin, associated with Al-Qaeda, was killed in a U.S. airstrike Mar. 19. The Pentagon said in an issued statement that Yasin plotted the 2008 bombing of the Marriott hotel in Islamabad, as well as the 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore.
