Happy Friday, Oak Park. Here’s what you need to know to wrap up your week and begin your weekend:

This week: construction of solar panels proceeds

The construction of the new solar panels began Tuesday, March 27. Since then, multiple student drivers have been displaced to park on Kanan Road.

Though they lost 9-10 to Los Alamitos Monday, March 26, varsity girls’ lacrosse won 16-3 against Oaks Christian Wednesday, March 28. Varsity boys’ lacrosse also won against Thatcher Tuesday, March 27.

Track and field has a meet Thursday, March 30th against Camarillo at 3:00 p.m.

Varsity boys’ volleyball has a game Thursday, March 30 against Camarillo.

Next week: ASB elections and music festival

Elections for future ASB cabinet members will be held all throughout next week. Those elected will be announced Friday, April 7.

There will be a music festival at Medea Creek Middle School Sunday, April 2 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will feature all of the bands from Oak Park, including Wind Ensemble and Concert Band.

The third senior Life Skills retreat will be held Wednesday, April 5 to Saturday, April 8 at Hilltop in Malibu.

Beyond Oak Park: Trump’s border wall facing delay

Construction of President Donald Trump’s “great, great wall” has been delayed due to a lack of funding. Trump requested that the supplemental funding bill FY17 include money for the wall and military programs. Democrats have threatened to block the bill. Read more from BBC News.
