Winter Break Interview
Where did you go over Winter Break?
January 31, 2018
Freshman Gillian Ong : “I went to Malaysia and Taiwan. It was fun but Asiais a lot dirtier than America; people should be grateful they actually have publicrestrooms that aren’t a thinly covered hole in the wall. But it was good because I got to see all my relatives in Asia and that was fun.”
Senior Trisha Sharma : “The trip [to India] consisted of meeting family almost every day and going out for food, which was amazing. I always love going to India, it’s like my second home
Senior Zack Kariya : “I went to Seoul and Japan and it was incredible getting to experience different cultures and seeing things from a new perspective.”
Senior Emma Loparco “We started off by flying down to Buenos Aires…then we flew to Ushuaia…then we boarded the boat and made our way down the Drake Passage but luckily we got the ‘Drake Lake’ so it was only like five foot waves. Since the passage was so smooth we got there a day early and were able to do an extra day of expedition so we did 11 in total. We saw penguins, took zodiac tours, and saw many icebergs, seals, and whales. The most memorable part was the Polar Plunge; I went the numb the second I got in, so I’m guessing it was really cold. I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity to go to Antarctica; it was one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been to and it was life changing.”
Junior Vincent Schnaider : “I went all over Thailand because my dad found a groupon for airfare. I rode an elephant and pet a baby calf. I also found a pregnant monkey on the street and gave it my mango.”
