Letter from the Locker Room – Lauren Kessler

Dear Birdcage,

My name is Lauren Kessler and I am a senior at OPHS who has been a player on the tennis team for four years now.

I’d like to start off by saying that I am extremely grateful for all that this team has brought me. Even though tennis is mostly an individual sport, we, as a team, have been able to create an extremely positive and supportive environment. I’ve met some of my best friends on this team who I know will be in my life forever, and I have this sport and the OPHs program to thank for that.

This year, our team went 7-2 in league, and I think that’s a reflection of both our motivated players and our coach, Carl, who has helped up every step of the way with his words of advice and encouragement on and off the court.

As we are now approaching our first round of CIF and our season is nearing the end, I know that I will miss this team, program, and all the people I have met throughout these four years so much! I know I am going to be able to look back on the 2019 season and team with nothing but amazing memories and love.

I couldn’t have asked for a better way to participate in athletics at OPHS and know that I will carry these moments with me forever. Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

Lauren Kessler
