Proposition 61: Drug price standards

October 27, 2016

Proposition 61 limits the state from purchasing any prescription drugs from manufacturers above the lowest price paid by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. The initiative was proposed to limit the amount of money a state agency could spend on drugs and pharmaceuticals. It would ban state agencies from creating agreements with drug manufacturers unless the price is at or below the price paid by the VA.
