This week, Oak Park High School took on its annual club rush with hundreds of eager students flooding the pavilion. Club week at OPHS is serious business: decorated boards line the rows of tables and club representatives employ all sorts of tactics to encourage students to join their club. From easy-to-access sign-up sheets and colorful boards to candy and other incentives, clubs rack up large numbers of members within the few days they have to promote themselves.
OPHS is well-known for having an extensive list of unique and diverse clubs, and this year was no different with a grand total of 110 clubs for the 2023-24 school year. Many clubs are veterans of the game and have returning members year after year, while others are brand new.
All clubs, despite their age or member count, help bring people with similar interests together and allow students to explore more unique and specialized passions. Here is a small glimpse into OPHS’s 2023-24 club rush:
