It is that time of the year again for the annual tradition at Oak Park High School for the girls of the junior class to battle against the girls of the senior class. Volunteers from both grades attend a meeting and prepare with the coaches who volunteered to make plays and assign positions for each team. Practice started this past week and both teams are preparing for the game.
“This year the team is ready to beat the juniors and during our practices we are coming up with great plays to dominate on the field,” senior Abby Berro said.
This year’s senior class had also won last year’s Powerpuff game and is on the run to win again this year. However, this year the junior class is planning complex plays to hopefully beat the senior’s this year.
“During practice, the team is running new routes and testing each player’s speed and strength abilities to see which position would fit them best,” junior Taylor Mansmann said. “Then, playing those players with the new routes to see what will help us win.”
All the hard work from both teams is to ultimately win the trophy and have the bragging rights over the other team. Come support the official Powerpuff game on April 12th.
