The Super Bowl, an American favorite since 1967, occurs on the second Sunday of February, once a year. Two teams face off for the chance to win the big game and receive the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The 14-3 Philadelphia Eagles will take on the 15-2 Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Both teams have prevailed over the rest during the regular season and postseason, leading them to the big game. 

The Chiefs are in a bizarre situation as they seek to make NFL History by winning three Super Bowls in a row. No team has ever done this although the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers have both come close to doing so. 

The Eagles are looking for revenge this Sunday as they haven’t won a Super Bowl since 2018 against the New England Patriots. They were defeated in Super Bowl 57 against the Chiefs after only losing by three, so this Super Bowl will be a quest for the Eagles. 

Whether you’re watching the game or not, there is something for everyone during the Super Bowl broadcast. Comedic commercials and traditional foods bring people together as they watch two teams battle for the title. Another event during the big game is the halftime performance. This year, Kendrick Lamar will be performing with SZA for the halftime show presented by Apple Music. 

So no matter who you are rooting for, the Super Bowl is sure to provide for some fun moments. Whether it be in the game or the commercials and halftime show, there is a reason that the Super Bowl has been a classic for so many years.
