After a tumultuous series of games and unexpected shifts to the team’s roster, the boys volleyball team is ready to work together to extend their winning streak.
“The team is pretty much the same as last year, minus the seniors of course. This leads us to a weaker team offensively but definitely stronger in the defense end of things,” junior Micah Kwok wrote. “[But] I think we will make it to playoffs, it will take hard work to push through but I think we do have a chance at CIF.”
Although players from the 2023-2024 season are extremely close, new varsity players still have to work towards blending into the team culture.
“[Our] team culture and chemistry is strong [and our] team feels like a big friend group on the court,” senior Adam Noy wrote. “[However the] amount of new varsity players [could be a weakness].”
Individual players have expressed their interest in strengthening their own skills to further enhance their chances of winning.
“Individually, I am planning to work on my passing out of serve receive and serving tougher,” Kwok said wrote
With a plethora of new players on their roster, the boys volleyball team is confident in their abilities to work through all their challenges and come together for another spectacular season.
“I think we’ll have a winning record and hopefully win league,” Noy wrote, “[and although] we have 19 players which is the biggest team I’ve ever been on, [which may be a] challenge, [I’m] super excited.”
