The Pan Kitchen in Westlake Village is one of those places I stumbled upon when I was craving something different, and it didn’t disappoint. If you’re into Thai food or hotpot or, like me, love exploring spicy Asian cuisines, it’s a great spot with plenty of options to keep you coming back.
I stop by every Wednesday and the occasional Saturday, and I have to say, their lunch specials are phenomenal. I went for the veggie chow mein and it really hit the spot. It had that perfect balance of spice and flavor, and I loved how tender the noodles were. If you’re someone who appreciates bold, spicy dishes, you’re in for a treat. I’ve also heard good things about the Pad Kee Mao, also known as drunken noodles and, though I haven’t tried it yet, it’s definitely on my list for next time.
What really caught my eye was the hotpot section on their menu. It’s available from noon until 10 p.m., which is perfect if you’re looking for something fun and interactive. I’m a fan of the idea of a hotpot because you get to play chef at the table, customizing your meal exactly how you like it. That said, it’s not for everyone, especially if you’re not into DIY dining. I plan on trying this with family and friends as it can turn a dinner into a whole different experience.
Their milk teas and smoothies are the real deal. I always go for the brown sugar boba, and it is the perfect balance of bitter and sweet, without an overpowering amount of sugar or caffeine. If you’re in the mood for something refreshing, I highly recommend their mango smoothie. The texture is light, and it has that fruity kick that really hits the spot on a warm afternoon.
Of course, no place is perfect. I did feel a bit rushed during lunch since it got pretty busy. However, the service was decently fast and the food more than made up for it. Also, while the lunch specials and appetizers are reasonably priced, some of their regular menu items are a little on the pricier side. But for me, the variety and quality make it worthwhile.
Overall, The Pan Kitchen has earned its spot on my list of go-to places. Whether I’m in the mood for spicy noodles or a refreshing drink, I know I can count on them to deliver. If you’re in the area and haven’t checked it out yet, I’d say give it a shot and you might just find your new favorite dish.
The Pan Kitchen’s hours of operation runs from noon to 10 p.m. except for Sundays, when they close an hour early. Swing by for a must try Asian cuisine!
