School dances are one of the most exciting aspects of high school coming in from middle school. Out of the three dances at Oak Park High School, Homecoming perhaps is the most generally celebrated, being the first dance of the year and, of course, featuring a Homecoming court for each grade level.
On Friday, Sept. 12, the 2025 Homecoming court was announced for all grade levels excluding seniors, who will be announced at the upcoming football game on Friday, Sept. 19. This year, Charlotte Ben and Jayden Shore took the freshman crowns.
At school, Ben and Shore are both involved in the OPHS athletics program, among other fields.
“I play soccer in my free time and do some drawing and painting,” Ben said. “I’m on the varsity [girls soccer] team [at OPHS].”
Similarly to Ben, Shore tends towards a more active lifestyle.
“I like to play football and go biking,” Shore said. “I’m involved in sports and the football team.”
Though Ben and Shore will not be attending Homecoming together, they were excited to be announced as this year’s Homecoming court.
