ComedySportz to spread holiday humor at upcoming game
The ComedySportz team is preparing for the final game of 2015. The holiday-themed game — complete with Santa hats and Hanukkah decorations — will take place in the Pavilion Friday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.
“We are preparing for the game with intense pun exercises and many other improvisation workouts,” sophomore and team member Megan Cleary said.
At this game, like every other ComedySportz game, the audience will have a say in what topics the players cover.
“We take suggestions from the audience for every scene we do, so they can make us as festive as they would like,” senior and team captain Liora Bregman said.
Before the game, team members will undergo a holiday tradition: a pre-game “secret Santa” present exchange of gag gifts.
“This yearly tradition is a great bonding experience for us,” senior and team member Tyler Ford said. “My favorite gift from years past was a sweet set of Batman boxers complete with a cape hanging off the back. Who doesn’t want to shut their eyes knowing that they are the dark knight?”
Students who attend Friday’s game wearing an ugly Christmas sweater will receive a free treat from the concessions stand as part of an effort to encourage attendees to participate in the holiday spirit.
“We are more than ready to make our audience laugh,” Cleary said.
