Senior Director of NFL Media Events and Production Planning, Matt Kallinger was the guest speaker at the first meeting of The Future Sports Business Leaders club on Friday, Oct. 8.

The club was established by President Adam Helfstein, along with Vice President Evan Einbund. It is based upon the desire to educate students about the business of sports through various guest speakers.

“This club teaches young aspiring people who want to go into the business world. More focused on sports and exposes them to people who have found success in that realm,” Einbund said. “We hope that people develop a deeper understanding of sports and hone in on their passion.”

The formation of this club began when Helfstein decided to start a chapter of FSBL based in Oak Park, which was an already nationwide established organization. Helfstein partnered with Einbund over their love of sports.

Kallinger talked about the aspects of his job and what he does as a part of NFL media.

“It was a great opportunity for us to learn from someone who has so much experience in the sports industry. He’s a super knowledgeable guy and we all enjoyed hearing him speak,” Helfstein said.

The Future Sports Business Leaders club is a great start for students who are interested in sports business and allows them to get experience and contact with professionals in the field.
