Teichner celebrates after a tournament win

Ever since Noah Teichner was young, he has always been in love with the game of soccer. Starting in the Agoura Youth Soccer Association (AYSO), Teichner has played the position of goalkeeper ever since.

“I love playing goalie,” Teichner said. “It’s a lot of pressure, but I embrace it.”

Teichner was the starting goalkeeper for the Eagles’ Varsity team this season. However, it was not always smooth sailing.

“I’m not proud of it, but in my first game at goalie, I let up 12 goals,” Teichner said.

“The parents were all laughing at the score and my son,” Noah’s father, David Teichner, wrote to Talon. “He ended up doing pretty well for himself in the end, though. I’m very proud of the player he’s become.”

After some intense training between the posts, Teichner finally found his groove on the soccer field.

Teichner quickly progressed up the ranks of youth soccer, racking up numerous awards. From attending many club tournaments and showcases, Teichner became one of the best keepers in Ventura County today. He has earned the starting varsity goalie position for the past two years, leading Oak Park to playoff appearances in both years.

This past season, Teichner was awarded with First Team All-League honors in the Coastal Canyon league.

“Noah has been an amazing teammate all four years of high school. I’m sad that our time at Oak Park has come to an end, but I’m glad I got to experience it with Noah,” senior soccer player Aryan Swapnil Patil said.

While the Boys’ Soccer team suffered an unfortunate defeat in snowy conditions in the second round of the CIF playoffs, the efforts of Teichner and the rest of the team were valiant.

“That game was nuts,” Teichner said. “It was freezing cold and snowing. I had a lower body injury that knocked me out of the game midway through, but I was super proud of our team’s effort. It was an amazing season.”

Teichner’s Oak Park career may have come to an end, but he still wants to stay active in the local soccer community.

“I train kids from our community to try to pass down the knowledge that other people have given me along the years. I really enjoy it,” Teichner said.

While Teichner will not be continuing his soccer career at the collegiate level, he is appreciative of all that it has given him and wants to stay involved in some way.

“I’ve given my all to this sport. I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Teichner said.
