IFlurtz is a fundraiser where each student fills out a questionnaire and then can pay $2 to get a sheet of their results of who they have compatibility with. The proceeds of the fundraiser goes to the junior class. Although the proceeds help the junior class, all students can participate.
“It’s run by the junior class because we collect the profits to use for prom and other events in our senior year,” junior ASB member Gabby Paul said.
Juniors in ASB pick which form to send out from the variety of options on the iFlurtz website.
“We chose the questionnaire and then went into classrooms and provided a QR code for all students to access the questionnaire. And then once they filled it out, we sent the answers to iFlurtz,” Paul said.
For years, Oak Park High School ASB had the questionnaire on paper that students would fill out in class. To save money this year students filled it out on an online form.
“This year we chose to do it online, because that will maximize the profits we can get because we won’t have to pay for paper,” Paul said.
Along with an increase in profits, the juniors are also testing if more students will fill the form out when it is online.
“We’re hoping to have more participation because students can just fill it out on their iPhones,” Paul said. “It’s a little bit easier than filling it out on paper.”
Students can buy their results at lunch from Feb. 10-14. The charts offer a variety of information from what the students fill out in their form.
“I think most students participate out of curiosity, because it provides friendship matches, romantic matches, birthday trivia and personality results,” Paul said.
