Happy Monday, Oak Park. Here’s what you need to know to wrap-up your weekend and begin your week:

Last Week: Super Saturday

The Oak Park Unified School District’s annual Super Saturday Sustainability Fair & Recycling Drive was held Saturday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the OPHS great lawn. The event included a live tide pool, solar cars, a student art contest and a recycling drive.

This Week: Sibling photos

Related students or faculty members can have their photos taken for the yearbook in G-5 during nutrition, lunch or 7th period. The final day for photos is Wednesday, Feb. 17.

Next Week: Spring sports final clearance and STEAM Career Exploration Night

Students participating on a spring sports team must complete final clearance at the student store between Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Thursday, Feb. 18. Coaches will inform athletes which day their teams have arranged to clear. Students must complete the sports packet and bring it with them in order to complete final clearance. If a student fails to clear or have a friend clear in his place, he will be punished with a 2-contest sanction.

Students interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, arts or math are welcome to attend the STEAM Career Exploration Night at Medea Creek Middle School Thursday, Feb. 18 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. At this event, local professionals in the STEAM fields will be speaking about their careers.
