Game Show Club, in collaboration with Key Club and the Associated Student Body, held Game Show Night — Family Feud style — in the Pavilion Friday, Jan. 13. The organizers raised $350 for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.

Students from a variety of grade levels competed against teachers Jan Willis, D.J. Cook, Alex Allison, Yukako Kawakatsu, Catherine Lory, and counselor Jenny Charrett. The objective for both teams was to guess the most popular survey answers for a range of questions, from “things you say good luck for” to “children’s movies that make you cry.”

“We are being blown away by the students because they are masters at this game. We are the novices,” Willis, an English teacher, said after a double defeat.

Shelby Ravetch, senior and Game Show Club president, hosted the event. Even with the event’s modest attendance, Ravetch said she noticed the audience and players were engaged.

“It was great to hear the players and audience laugh and see the excitement in the room grow,” Ravetch said. “I wanted to create a fun community event where we could bring students and teachers together in a fun way.”

Contestants said they were more than glad to come together for the charitable event.

“The game was really interactive with the audience, and I enjoyed being with my team because it bonded us together,” sophomore and contestant Quinn Conahan said. “I was very glad to help support childhood cancer. No child should be alone in their fight.”
