March: Letter from the editor

Dear readers,

This month, we have been met with an abundance of adversity, both local and national.

On March 14, we walked out of class to support those affected by the Stoneman Douglas school shooting. Three days later, a gunman shot and killed a woman at the Oaks Mall — a mall situated 12 miles away from our school. Our families, friends and teachers were there. They saw the chaos. They heard the gunshot.

So, we stand in solidarity. I personally stand with every victim and family affected by gun violence. Enough is, truly, enough.

In reading this edition, we urge our readers to look past political affiliations and focus on the news.

And in light of our reporting on recent events, it might seem like the Talon leans toward a particular ideology, but we want to remind our readers that the Talon reports what is timely. We report the news.

Additionally, as we near the end of the school year, we look back as we move forward. So, look back on all that has occured in the past year. And move forward in your pursuits, whether it be in school or on the national stage.
