Joy Forster to go to UCLA
Forster has played tennis at OPHS for four years
Senior Joy Forster has played for the OPHS girls’ tennis team for her entire high school career. She will attending University of California, Los Angeles in the fall and is currently undecided in terms of major.
How long have you been playing tennis?
I’m not exactly sure, but I think it’s been about six years.
How did you first get interested in tennis?
I went to Thousand Oaks Chinese School every Saturday starting from kindergarten. We had three periods, and I had a free third. I decided to start taking the tennis class during third, and ever since then I’ve continued.
Do you prefer singles or doubles?
Doubles.
What was the most memorable thing that happened to you while you were playing for the OPHS tennis team?
I was given the Secret Weapon Award at the team party this year.
Do you plan to continue tennis in college?
I plan to try, if time allows.
I know you’re still undecided in terms of major, but is there anything you’re leaning towards?
Not really. I’m trying to keep and open mind since I don’t know what I want to do in the future.
What advice would current Joy give to 9th grade Joy?
Stop procrastinating so much, get some more sleep and don’t apply to colleges on the day of the deadline.
What’s your favorite kind of chip?
Nacho cheese Doritos.
Favorite YouTuber and why?
I don’t have one.
How much coffee is too much?
[There’s] no such thing as too much coffee.
