Food Review : The Royal Egg Cafe
I recently found my way to the Royal Egg Cafe in Westlake Village, located just next to the T.J. Maxx off Lindero Canyon Road. Despite its seemingly metropolitan location, the interior of the Royal Egg feels very homely and welcoming. The food, a somewhat healthy and altogether original smattering of offerings, has vegetarian options such as Huevos Rancheros, in addition to more classical options such as the crispy pork belly sandwich. I happened to eat the house-made quiche, a thick and tasty breakfast dish served with shaved fennel, lemon and a baby kale sandwich. It was a tad too rich, making me grateful for the side salad. I ate it all and was very happy afterward, but I certainly could not eat any more than that. I also tried the egg white wrap, which I thought was very good as far as breakfast wraps go, with the feta really making the flavors pop. Overall, my experience at Royal Egg Cafe was certainly a positive, however some of the flavors on different dishes were a tad too overwhelming, but I would definitely recommend this location to anyone seeking a friendly place with quality food.
