Malvika Kolpe has been on the volleyball team for four years, and has spent this past season as the team manager. This year left a lasting impact on Kolpe.

“Watching the girls go 7-1 in league was amazing, and also getting the chance to play one last time on senior night was so fun and memorable,” Kolpe said.

Though Kolpe didn’t play this season, her love for volleyball never wavered.

“I already knew I wasn’t going to continue playing volleyball this year, but I’m glad I still was a manager because I still got to be a part of the team in a way,” Kolpe said. “Volleyball has definitely been a big part of my life so I was happy I could end it on a positive note.”

Kolpe enjoyed watching her fellow players grow this season.

“This year’s team was so much stronger in every way, from chemistry to skills,” Kolpe said. “Watching them play and seeing them go to CIF playoffs and now state championships for the first time in a long time has been so exciting and fun to watch.”

If talking to her freshman self, Kolpe would be more kind to herself.

“I would tell her not to beat herself up over every mistake since volleyball is really just a game of mistakes, it’s mostly how good you can recover,” Kolpe said.
