Week of Sept. 20
Derica Chiu, Varsity Girls Golf
“Derica medaled in both matches this week, shooting -1, 35 at Moorpark CC and -1, 33 at Los Robles, helping to bring our league record to 4-0. She is under par for the season again with a season-worst score of +1, 37, while all her other rounds are under par,” Coach Donn James said.
Layla Berens, Cheer
“Layla never complains and is always willing to help out wherever she is needed. Layla learned all of the camp material that she missed incredibly fast and has even helped new members learn the sideline chants and dances. Layla is consistently the first athlete to turn in her weekly workout videos done properly without fail. Her positive attitude and outlook is infectious. She always has a smile on her face and her dedication and commitment is unmatched!”
Week of Oct. 7
Rowan Heidt, Varsity Football
“Against Agoura, Rowan had 92 yards rushing and 75 yards receiving. He caught 2 touchdowns. Rowan is also a member of the National Honors Society,” Coach Casey Webb said.
Jessica Baumann, Varsity Dance
“Jessica has been an incredible second-year captain. Always is prepared and is consistently one of the hardest workers in the room at all times.” Coach Destiny Ridge said.
Week of Oct. 17
Dylan Miller, Varsity Girls Volleyball
“Dylan had 13 assists, five aces, two kills and two blocks to help Oak Park defeat Moorpark in three sets and earn a chance to qualify for a CIF playoff berth,” Coach Georgia Mitchell said.
Week of Oct. 21
Lily Huynh, Varsity Girls Golf
“In the three rounds of league finals ending yesterday, she was the only player in the field of 30 to be under par every round, totaling -5, 102 for the tournament,” Coach Donn James said.
Kadyn Parr, Varsity Football
“Kadyn threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass. He has been a wonderful leader for the varsity football team,” Coach Casey Webb said.
Week of Oct. 27
Landon Holmes, Varsity Football
“Landon had seven catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns and an interception. He is a varsity team captain,” Coach Casey Webb said.
Kat Modrzejewski, Varsity Cross Country
“Kat was second place overall at the Ventura County Championships and helped her team earn first place for small schools in the race. She is on Oak Park’s top 10 list for sophomores in school history,” Coach Steve White said.
