Lawn signs distributed to Oak Park seniors
Class of 2021 becomes first class to get signs for free

The class of 2020 was the first year to be offered lawn signs, but they were not free of charge. This is the first year lawn signs were ordered and offered to all seniors for free.
“We even ordered enough for students who may have [a] split family. We made a list so they got one [sign] for each home,” Principal Kevin Buchanan said.
OPHS administration found unspent money in the budget, some of which was used to purchase lawn signs for all graduating seniors.
“The district is supporting us too. And I think they’re doing this [lawn sign distribution] for all the schools,” Buchanan said.
Some students believe the signs are a good way to make seniors more excited about graduation.
“This graduation, and the whole year, is so different than what we expected, so it’s nice to put up these signs and feel a little more normal about graduation,” senior Kiara Gautam said.
