Fear began to spread across campus in early November when students received requests from an anonymous Instagram account with the handle @ophs_badparking. The account posted their very first bad parking job on Nov. 8, accompanied by the caption “staff can park bad too.”

The unknown owner of the account began to post semi-frequently, letting students ponder which of their peers started this account.

“I started the OPHS bad parking account to create a sense of fun environment off of privileges juniors and seniors have on our campus. It was a great way to boost people’s day when they opened the account,” the anonymous owner of the account said. “TikTok was actually how I came to learn about the other schools creating the account, so I thought, why not do it for Oak Park?”

There are students that disagree, however.

“I am terrified that one day I will be on that account and be humiliated,” senior Sandhya Sridhar said jokingly.

The owner of the account continues to post to tease their fellow classmates and to spread a sense of joy and reconnection now that students are back on campus.

“It has been very funny how many students have been DM-ing the account of pictures they find of bad parking at school. I think it has been a great way to boost our school spirit in a very fun, different way,” the anonymous account said.
