Is “The Mandalorian” the best Star Wars series?

The Mandalorian remains the most-watched Star Wars show on Disney +

This live-action series developed by Lucasfilm first appeared on Nov. 12, 2019, five years after Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi and has made two seasons since then. This series provides us with an exploration of the new Star Wars era with the two main characters throughout each season known as Grogu or “Baby Yoda”, and the Mandalorian, Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal. Seen through the different characters throughout each season, this show has continued to prosper for the few years it has been out while providing a run-down of what it was like on the planet of Tatooine.

“By the end of season 1, The Mandalorian accumulated 5.3 billion minutes of viewership, while The Mandalorian season 2 topped it with 8.3 billion minutes,” stated Miguel Fernandez of Star Wars News Net.

Mandalorians are a specific race of warriors that can be seen in “The Clone Wars” where Boba Fett wore the Mandalorian armor passed down by his father Jango Fett. The timezone of this show occurs three years after “Return of the Jedi,” way before the First Order rises up. During the trailer, different fights, as well as the usage of high-tech weapons, are portrayed as Pedro Pascal locates his way around the far ends of the galaxy.

In both trailers, the gunslinger character, played by Pedro Pascal, gets into several shoot-outs and dogfights with various groups, including the Stormtroopers and Death Troopers who are apparently still out in full force after the fall of the Empire,” exclaimed Eliana Dockterman with Time.

One of the mysteries throughout season one was the curiosity of what The Mandalorian really looked like. The meaning behind his armor is based on a code that all the Mandalorians must follow. Their religion is a part of their lifestyle and the helmet signifies how important that means to them. Despite this, Din Djarin, The Mandalore, did end up removing his helmet, which could disown him from the clan. Since then, the last time he removed it was as a child when his parents were killed off many years ago.

Mandalorians are not one particular race of species, and their religion is a way of life all may join if they are willing to follow the code, so the point of the helmet is to signify that they are in fact Mandalorian and not what the appear as underneath the helmet,” said James Richards with Fansided.

In comparison, some may argue that The Clone Wars have continuously proved that it is way past being an animated show. There have been continuous arcs throughout each season while The Mandalorian is just starting to blossom as a series. Clone Wars was also able to give the fans Ashoka Tano who is one of the most amazing characters in the Star Wars plot and slowly provide an in-depth of her story throughout the series.

Ahsoka Tano is one of the best Star Wars characters ever, and she first appeared in Clone Wars. Since then, she has been in multiple different Star Wars projects, each one progressing her story a little further,” explained Jamie Parker with Cbr.

During the show, Djarin was on a mission from a man known as The Client and he stumbles upon Grogu during his journey. From that moment on, Grogu figured out the ways of the Force and used it for a good cause even though his abilities were being hidden away for safekeeping. The true appreciation for each other is portrayed when Ashoka told Djarin words of wisdom, changing his perspective on Grogu. Since then, their admiration for each other has not gone unnoticed.

It was Grogu’s love of Din that began to change the bounty hunter in The Mandalorian season 1. There was no hiding the admiration the little one had for his guardian who had sworn his life to protecting the foundling,” stated Molly Brizzell of Screen Rant.

The Mandalorian has built an audience for members of all ages on a global level. This series has allowed something new in a Star Wars essence although differs from being a whole new story viewers have to understand. The amount of simplicity involved in the dynamic between the Mandalore and The Child provided a new perspective into the Star Wars plot
