This year’s Kanan Cup on March 9, 2023 was a big win for the girls, as they haven’t beaten Agoura in over six years. The win is indicative of the season as a whole since girls lacrosse is currently undefeated after beating Nordoff 20-1 bringing  their overall record to 8-0.

OPHS was nervous and excited to compete for the Kanan Cup at Agoura High School. The final score of the game was 10-5. Both teams scored only once or twice at the beginning of the match.

“I think everyone was very excited because we had a lead during the game and that momentum was super fun because we hadn’t beaten Agoura in a really long time,” said varsity freshman Jessica Qi.

Even at an away game, the team still felt so much support from OPHS fans and the ball stayed on Agoura’s side the whole time, showing the lead OPHS had throughout the whole game.

“All the players were so happy after the win, especially for the seniors in their last season, we all had a feeling this was coming so it was super fun to actually come through,” said Qi.
