Spring Couture Column

Spring+Couture+Column

Spring is in the air and so is the first Couture Column of 2024! This year we have seen a lot of students around campus channeling their inner y2k fashion trends or making statements with sweaters! Let’s have a look at what OPHS has been wearing this season.

  1. College sweaters

It is college decision season! No matter where seniors are off, they have been proud to represent their future school! Coast to coast, this has definitely been a spring style trend. An array of colorful hoodies fill campus as students proudly show off where they will spend their next four years.

2. 2000s tank tops

In all shapes and forms the simple tank top is a spring staple. Spaghetti straps fade perfectly to the summer strapless. Utilizing bright colors helps to bring out your season staples.

3 – Floral is back? (Freshmen Maeve Homesly)

This one has been touch and go for a while, but outfits seem to have a strong return of the “garden” theme, bringing back floral patterns this season. Accompanied by cargos creates the perfect look.

4 – Jerseys (Sophomore Kelsey Frieborn)

Can you name 3 players on that team? NOPE! But I’m wearing the jersey anyway! Ever since Bella Hadid wore an oversized soccer jersey last year they have been on the rampage!

5 – Jean Foldover

Has any pair of jeans ever fit PERFECTLY? Odds are the answer is no. Students at OPHS have been pretty crafty with their use of getting pants to fit well – the basic belt is out! Now it’s all about the shoelaces in the back, ribbons on the sides, button-through-the-belt-loop and lastly the fold over (with or without button). Each of these options helps to add a little extra personality to your outfit, and new methods of sizing pants is always appreciated!
