On Oct. 13, 2025, sixth graders from Medea Creek Middle School had a choice to go to Pali, a camp for kids all the way in Running Springs, California, for three days as a school trip. The field trip was paid for by the students’ parents if they wanted them to go. Most of the students got to go, but some stayed behind. The students, staff and teachers all went on a two hour trip on a school bus to Pali.
The camp had a wide range of activities for the students. These pursuits included hiking and team building, among some others.
Gagana Dadi, a sixth grader at MCMS enjoyed the variety of games and experiences that the camp brought.
“I liked all of [the activities at Pali Camp], but mostly archery,” Dadi said.
Another sixth grader who had gone to Pali, Everly Flores, said, “My favorite activity at Pali was criminal scene investigation because it felt real.”
Pali also provided food for the sixth graders, since the camp didn’t allow outdoor food. They provided them with different meals daily, along with a salad bar.
“[My favorite meal was] probably the second night’s dinner, which happened to be pasta and bread with a vegetable,” sixth grader Evan Zhong said.
Kids that chose not to go stayed at school and were given different schedules. They did many interesting activities, such as rockets and art, as well as regular schoolwork like math and English.
Mateen Rahim is a sixth grader who decided not to go to Pali Camp, “We had a different schedule [and everything]. We just mostly goofed off.”
