Happy Monday, Oak Park. Here’s what you need to know to wrap-up your weekend and begin your week:

This Week: Mr. Eagle pageant and Powder Puff sign-ups

The annual OPHS Mr. Eagle pageant will take place in the Pavilion Friday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m. 12 boys will face off for the title of Mr. Eagle in categories such as dance, runway and talent. Tickets are available at the pageant for $5.

Senior and junior girls can sign up for Powder Puff football from Monday, March 14 at lunch through Friday, March 18. The Powder Puff football competition will take place Friday, April 29 in the OPHS stadium.

 

Next Week: ComedySportz

There will be a ComedySportz match in the Pavilion at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24. Tickets will be sold at the start of the show. Come kick off Spring Break with a battle of the wits.

 

Last Week: ‘Mary Poppins’

The “Mary Poppins” production opened in the Pavilion Thursday, March 10 at 7 p.m., with shows Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

 

Beyond Oak Park: Ankara shaken by car bombing

Nearly 37 people were killed and over 100 were injured in a car bomb attack in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, Sunday, March 13. Turkish officials believe the attack may have been planned by Kurdish separatists, although responsibility for the attack has not been claimed yet. This is the second attack in Ankara in less than a month. Read more from Reuters.
