Boys’ varsity soccer lost in their home game against Royal Wednesday, Jan. 11, with a score of 1-6. Girls’ varsity soccer won in their away game against Royal the same day, with a score of 2-1.

Boys’ varsity basketball won in their home game against Royal Wednesday, Jan. 11. The score was 75-54.

This week: Awareness Week and winter sports

Boys’ basketball will play Camarillo at home Wednesday, Jan. 18. Frosh-soph will play at 4 p.m., junior varsity will play at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m. Varsity will then play at a showcase at Azusa against San Dimas Saturday, Jan. 21. Frosh-soph and junior varsity will play St. Bonaventure at home that same day, at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively.

Girls’ basketball has an away game against Camarillo Wednesday, Jan. 18. Junior varsity will play at 5 p.m. and varsity at 6:30 p.m. The team will also play away at Notre Dame Friday, Jan. 20. Junior varsity plays at 4:30 p.m. and varsity at 6 p.m.

Beyond Oak Park: President Obama delivers farewell address

President Barack Obama gave his farewell address in Chicago Tuesday, Jan. 10. He gave a recap of his setbacks and successes throughout his two terms as president, using statistics to prove how the U.S. has bettered itself from eight years ago. Obama also assured everyone that there would be a smooth transfer of power from him to Republican president-elect Donald Trump. Watch Obama’s farewell address from the New York Times.
