September: Letter from the editor

September%3A+Letter+from+the+editor

Dear readers,

A month has gone by in the blink of an eye. Freshmen, you’ve adjusted to alternating classes; sophomores, you’ve accepted that wearing a toga to school is acceptable; juniors, you’ve adapted to writing a mini essay in 17 minutes (ready, set, mush!); seniors, you’ve (hopefully) begun your college application process. Regardless of your grade level, you are adapting to change in some way.

We, at the Talon, are doing the same.

We are adapting to new members, new editors and new challenges. As with the beginning of every new year, we have struggled with issues that result from inexperience. Our editors, our staff members, even myself, are all learning to adapt to our roles. As a staff, we hope to continue adapting and learning how better to provide you, readers, with better content you can enjoy.

This month, our staff has covered a vast array of topics — from Tuesday’s MAC meeting dedicating Sept. 14 to Luc Bodden to the three Hurricanes currently ripping apart families across the world.

Our writers, photographers and artists have worked hard to report timely stories, convey nuanced opinions and highlight unique students. We hope you find an article or maybe even two that you find interesting.

With every edition, it is our sincere desire that you learn something new. We certainly have.
