Mini-Documentary: Diving into the new swim season

Oak Park welcomes a new sport

For the first time in Oak Park High School history, our school’s list of sports has grown to welcome the brand new swim team. OPHS waited to have a swim team for years mainly because the high school does not have facilities.

The team of 22 swimmers started practicing in late February when they secured a coach and a swim location. Their season kickstarted on March 1 at Viewpoint High School. These student-athletes compete purely in away games at schools like Moorpark High, Camarillo High and Thousand Oaks High.

“You can make anywhere home. It’s about the spirit you bring, which these guys have,” Coach Calley Prezzano said.
