Oak Park High School boys lacrosse faced off against Glendale this last week in a dominant matchup, 16–3.
OPHS controlled the game from start to finish, showcasing their strength on both offense and defense. The game marked another strong performance for the Eagles as they continue their season, bringing energy and power to every quarter against Glendale.
“This is a big game for us as we continue building momentum throughout the season,” junior Westley Arnold said. “We’re focused on improving each time we step on the field.”
Oak Park players contributed across the board, with multiple athletes finding the back of the net and the defense holding Glendale to just three goals.
“Everyone played their role today,” Arnold said. “Our offense was clicking, and our defense stayed locked in the whole time.”
With a deep roster, OPHS continues to show its strength as more players step up and make an impact throughout the game.
“I play attack, and from my perspective on the game last Friday I think that we played great as a team,” junior Grayson Arledge said. “We were moving the ball around and playing unselfishly. We scored many goals as a team and played with intensity.”
The team also emphasized preparation and discipline, staying focused before and during the game to maintain their high level of play.
“We make sure we’re ready mentally and physically before games,” Arledge said. “That preparation helps us perform at our best.”
Looking ahead the Eagles are confident in their ability to continue winning as the season progresses.
“The team this season is so far on track for many more wins to come,” Arledge said “We lost some games but going further into the season we are going to be playing easier teams and we are ready for all of them.”
Alredge scored 3 goals and had 1 assist in the last outing against Glendale. This big win gives Oak Park an early boost as they look ahead to the rest of their schedule and continue building towards league competition.
Come support the team at their next home game on Mar. 24 against Grace High School at 7 p.m.!
